   For several years Nicolas de Barry has devoted himself entirely to the research and creation of natural perfumes. Modern perfumery is not offering natural products anymore. This is due to the cost of high quality materials (a natural rose costs a hundred times more than a synthetic) together with reglementations that favour unatural elements.
For lovers of high quality natural perfum, cost does not matter. Nicolas de Barry has made 100 % natural fragrances searching the rare substances himself. For example Aloes (also called Aquilaria, Agarwood, Kyara, Oud) is found in South Thailand , the blue Lotus comes from Thailand too , the Rose from Grasse has a limited production since it is grown on less than 7 acres. That's why it is more expensive than the Bulgarian or the Turkish rose. The Ylang is grown in the Mayottes plantation by Jean Paul Guerlain. Whatever the cost, Nicolas du Barry chooses to collect the world's best quality oils to satisfy his clients. You can order the following perfumes traditionally prepared with 20 % concentration, order perfumes with a different alcohol content, or without alcohol added.

Responsible for the creation & the making of hand made limited and exceptional perfumes, I guarantee the finest quality natural materials chosen by me from the rarest and most beautiful available. I know my suppliers personally and the places which they come from. According to me and for the connoisseurs, the controlled origins and quality of substances -as the best wines- represent the best possible guarantee. I have chosen not to label these as organic. I go abroad and check "in situ" that they conform to my criteria. I choose the most genuine oils for my creations using the best natural extracts such as Rose and Jasmine Absolute. I sometimes use animal extracts but not Musk because the ibex is protected in the Himilayas; Ambre gris is OK since it can be taken without endangering the life of the whales (Nicolas de Barry).
My Collection. The perfumes I offer are mostly 20 % concentration. Crystal bottle 150 ml, with gold 24 carrats decoration made in Italy by Gigli, Florence.
You can order a personalized package, a different alcohol %, pure extract, a different base (olive oil or others) .
Kyara : the japanese name for the best quality Aloes formerly for the Japan Emperor's exclusive use. It grows in south east Asia. When this Aqualaria wood is infected it produces this wonderful oil fragrance. Buddha considered it the best in Nirvana, Muhammed thought this scent came from the Garden of Paradise. This wood is also mentioned in ancient Egypt. And in the Bible. It is the most mysterious and most expensive perfume extract. This perfume is built aroudn this strong note together with sandalwood and traces of osmanthus from China. It is a very pure version of the Aloes (Aquilaria subintrega) extract from Thailand.

Rose of Grasse: the famous "rosa centifolia" that made the reputation of the entire area and a trade that dates back to the seventeenth century. Only 3 hectares are still grown... Nicolas de Barry proposes it made out with (about) 1/3 rose of May from Grasse associated with winter Calabria Bergamot -the most refined of all Bergamot - together with pure and natural Ambre gris.

Crimea Rose: Crimea (now in Ukraine) produced like its bulgarian neighbour, an ancient very famous rose used in compositions especially made for the russian imperial family. Developped and maintained under the Soviet Union for purpose use of nomenklatura, this rose is unknown in our western countries : its scent is more powdered than the Bulgarian and the Turkish. It gives the perfume an "old fashion" base that some connoisseurs like . Nicolas de Barry proposes a composition with more than 40 % of this rose extract combined with traces of Sandal and Patchouli on top of a fresh note of Winter Bergamot.

Ylang-ylang from Jean Paul Guerlain's plantation : Jean paul Guerlain a true lover of natural substances had acquired a property in Mayotte in the Indian Ocean where he started growing Ylang trees. He succeeded in making his production the most famous in the world. He produces very little of it. He has now sold his property but the tradition continues. This heady perfumed flower needs perfection and freshness. This fragrance is a combination of Jean Paul Guerlain's Ylang and the sweet aroma of Vanilla bourbon.

Australian Sandal wood : It has become very hard to get some pure Sandal wood from India. The Australian "Mount Romance" project, based on the active participation of aborigenes, not only ecologically grows Sandal trees but is a very good exemple of a fair trade approach. Research allowed the discovery of a large variety of Sandal wood oils. Ranging from the classic style "Mysore" to a caramelized aroma and that of a wild animal like smell. Combined with the chinese Osmanthus, the Sandal perfume fragrance is made lighter with slight additions of Bergamot and Citrus from Calabria & Sicily.

Blue Lotus : this flower is the emblem of the Buddhist doctrine: a pure marvel of beauty. It grows in Asia in ponds. The Blue Lotus ( the very famous painting by Claude Monet) is the most delicate and rare of all lotuses. The one that Nicolas de Barry uses is grown in Thailand proposed in a harmoniously proportion with Aloeswood . This is a very specific scent for meditative purposes.

Eau Royale : an hommage paid to king Louis XV and french royal family. Nicolas de Barry succeeded in reproducing an historical fragrance. It is composed like a hymn to blood-red oranges and Citrus fruit from Sicily with a note of Neroli (the orange Brigaradier tree flower) and Shiu (a soft wood from China) . It is a light scent to use generously.
