Crimea produced, along with Bulgaria, a very ancient rose that was very famous, it was used in the compositions made for the Imperial Family of Russia. During the time of the URSS it was maintained and developed, yet is relatively unknown to occidental perfumery: it is more powdered than the Bulgarian or the Turkish rose, it gives an old-fashioned note that is very attractive for lovers of ancient perfumes. The composition that Nicolas de Barry proposes is made up of more than 40% of this rose associated with hints of sandalwood, patchouli and a fresh note of winter bergamot.
