Natural perfumes : Oud Collection

Over the past decade, Nicolas de Barry has dedicated himself to the composition of perfumes that are entirely and authentically natural.

For lovers of high-quality natural products, Nicolas de Barry has composed a collection of 100 % natural perfumes of Aloe wood (Oud). He personally travelled in the South of Thailand to acquire this rare raw materials. He searched for this raw material with a single purpose: to provide his customers with the best essences of the world, whatever the cost is!

Nicolas de Barry’s commitment: “Being wholly responsible for the creation and traditional fabrication of the exceptional perfumes that make up this collection, I guarantee that I have personally chosen the natural raw materials used and as such that they can be qualified as being the rarest and the most beautiful essences in the world”. “I know my suppliers and I know exactly my products' origin”. “I go on site to verify their conformity to ensure that I use the very best absolutes (rose, jasmine, tuberose ...) for my creations, nevertheless, I have to forsake the organic label that does not allow them because of the traditional methods of extraction”.

We offer, by order only, the following perfumes that are prepared traditionally at a concentration corresponding to “Eau de Parfum” (15%) but it is possible to order another concentration or else just the pure concentrate.

(The prices given are for 150 ml in a Murano glass bottle engraved with 24 carat gold custom made by the Maison Gigli of Florence. It is possible to command also samples of 5ml)

Oud Imperial: Kyara is the japanese name of the finest quality of agarwood that used to be reserved for the emperor’s use only. Originating from the forests in Southeast Asia, it is better known by its Arab name, “Oud”. This wood comes from a tree that occasionally secretes a fragrant resin. The Buddha considered this wood as being the perfume of Nirvana and the prophet Mahomet considered it as being the perfume of paradise; it has been used in perfumery since the time of ancient Egyptians. It is one of the most mysterious raw materials in perfumery, and the most expensive.

Our perfume is constructed around this powerful note, blended with Sandalwood and complemented by Vanilla and Iris to create a very pure version of essential oil of agarwood (Aquilaria subintrega) from Thailand. Oud, Vanilla and Iris are the three most expensive raw materials of perfumery.

Oud from Siam et Osmanthus from China: The flowers of this tree of China deliver an absolute in the floral fruity scent very appreciated by the perfumers. Since almost three centuries, they perfume pastries, tea and wine in Asia. The osmanthus is also one of the main components with the rose of the illustrious " perfume of Canton ". We can use it in many different harmonies. Here, Nicolas de Barry blends osmanthus with sandalwood together with a fresh note of bergamot orange.

Oud from Siam and Rose from Bulgaria: There are hundreds varieties of rose. The most used in perfumery is Rosa Damascena originated from Bulgaria, which undergoes a specific process in order to obtain the absolute or distilled essential oil.

Oud of Siam and its Karo Karounde:

LeLeptactina Senegambica is a shrub native to Guinea of the Rubiaceae family, nicknamed the "shrub of rocks", it produces white flowers called karo karounde flowers every year.

Widely used in perfumery in the 1930s, it is now banned for regulatory reasons...

As all of these perfumes are pure and natural, they may contain some substances that are likely to cause allergies as all natural products do. Therefore, please use them with precaution; avoid exposing your skin to sun after application.
